Ajay Rawat recevies award for conservation of nature

New Delhi, Nov 27 (UNI) Vice-President Hamid Ansari today gave away the inaugural Conservation of Nature Award to Ajay Rawat, a prominent conservationist from the Kumaon region of Uttarakhand.

The first such award, instituted by Narayan Dharmarth Ausdhalaya Trust, was given on the occasion of the silver jubilee of The Energy Research Institute (TERI).

Addressing on the occasion, the Vice President called upon the people to protect the earth. He said the natural order would be understood by the nature itself.

He congratulated Mr Rawat for his distinguished work in the field of conservation of nature and exhorted people to come forward and contribute their mite in this noble cause.

Mr Ansari also appreciated the efforts of the Narayan Dharmarth Ausdhalaya Trust for constituting such an award.

Ms Kapila Vatsyayan, MP, Mr Vijay Bhushan, Trustee, and several distinguished persons were present on the occasion.
