Tagore biographer Prashanta Pal dies

Kolkata, Nov 26 (UNI) Prasanta Pal, the noted biographer of Rabindranath Tagore, died at a city hospital here today after a prolonged illness.

He was 70 and is survived by wife, two daughters and son.

Family sources said he was admitted to hospital after his situation deteriorated.

A recipient of the prestigious Rabindra Puraskar, Mr Pal had worked on the biography of Tagore which got published in eight volumes, but remained unfinished.

He had long been associated with Visbha Bharati as a professor.
