Lawyers abstain from work in MP to protest blasts

Bhopal, Nov 26 (UNI) Judicial work came to a standstill in Madhya Pradesh courts today with lawyers abstaining from work to protest the serial blasts in three civil courts in Uttar Pradesh on November 23.

Judicial work remained paralysed all over the state on the call given by the Bar Council of Madhya Pradesh State Bar Council Chairman Rameshwar Neekhra said peace march and condolence meetings were organised. A memorandum was submitted to Governor Balram Jakhar demanding tightening of security in court premises and taking steps for preventing such incidents in future.

The District Bar Association organised a seminar on how to protect courts from terrorism in the state capital.

District Judge Renu Sharma stressed the need for installing close circuit cameras in court premises for preventing terrorist activities.
