Labour procession disrupts traffic, demands minimum wages in Goa

Panaji, Nov 26 (UNI) Contract workers under the banner of Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh today took out a procession, disrupting traffic on the main thoroughfare.

They were demanding implementation of minimum wages, hike in wage structure, confirmation of the workers with five to eight years of service and appointment of a labour commissioner in Goa with immediate effect.

The procession later culminated into a public meeting at Patto in front of Sesa Gharh amid tight security arrangements.

The procession included women, holding placards and banners, raised slogans in support of their demands.
