Jayant Prasad appointed envoy to Afghanistan
New Delhi, Nov 26 (UNI) Mr Jayant Prasad, presently Ambassador Permanent Representative in Geneva, has been appointed the next Ambassador to Afghanistan.
An Indian Foreign Service (IFS) officer of the 1976 batch, Mr Prasad will succeed Mr Rakesh Sood, the External Affairs Ministry announced here today.
Also, Mr Prabhakara Jha, High Commissioner to Fiji, has been concurrently accredited as High Commissioner to the Government of Tuvalu and the Kingdom of Tonga.
He will have residence in Suva.
