Girl commit suicide, one died and a mosque gutted in Kashmir

Srinagar, Nov 26 (UNI) An 18-year-old girl committed suicide while one person was killed in a road accident and four structures, including a mosque, were gutted in the Kashmir valley overnight.

Official sources said despite fatwa by muslim ulamas against committing suicide, yet another girl Dilshada Akhter 18 took the extreme step in her Sirhama Srigufwara house in south Kashmir.

They said she was rushed to District Hospital Anantnag in critical condition after she consumed some poisonous substance. She later died in the hospital, sources added.

The rate of suicide in the Kashmir valley has increased despite fatwa by ulamas declaring it unislamic.

A speedy load carrier hit and critically wounded one Ghulam Nabi Najar at Aribagh, Nowgam. He was immediately rushed to hospital where he died.

They said four structures including mosque were gutted at Pushwari Anantnag, Kak Mohalla Nowhatta and Dooban Taki, Kachihama Kupwara. The cause of the fire incidents were not known.
