Gangsters escape en route to jail

Nizamabad, Andhra Pradesh, Nov 26 (UNI) Three members of an inter-state gang, allegedly involved in robbery, escaped after they were produced before a local court in this district today.

Police said Gangadhar, Shankar Chauhan, Ramesh Godle and Ravi were produced before Bansuwada court in connection with robbery cases. They were sent to Nizamabad jail in a van with four constables escorting them.

Three constables got down on city outskirts and the van proceeded with just a single person. When the van reached a point, the gang pushed him out and escaped.

Though all the four tried to escape Gangadhar was rounded up.

Searches were on to arrest his fellow gangsters, police added.
