Bangalore, Nov 26 (UNI) Senior Congress leader H K Patil today welcomed the Parliament approval to lift Karnataka assembly from suspended animation and paving way for President rule in the State.

BJP in Karnataka also welcomed the decision and urged holding of early mid-term polls in the state.

Speaking to UNI, Mr Patil blamed both BJP and JD(S) for the present state of affairs in Karnataka.

Referring to detiled discussion on the motion in Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha, he said that the allegations and counter allegations made by the erstwhile coalition partners exposed the real colour of both BJP and JD(S), he said.

State BJP President Sadananda Gowda in his reaction demanded early elections. "JD(S) which ditched BJP is not in a position to face people and it will be wiped out in the state," he added.

Former Chief Minister and BJP leader B S Yeddyurappa, welcoming the parliamentary nod for president's rule, said the party would fight alone in the coming Assembly elections.

"We will not align with Mr H D Devegowda at any cost and we are confident of winning the majority on our own. BJP will not hesitate to induct those JD(S) leaders who were disgusted with the attitude of the Deve Gowda family members" he added.
