BJP launch second-leg of Yathra to highlight JD(S) betrayal

Bangalore, Nov 26 (UNI) Bharatiya Janata Party today launched the second leg of its 'Janajagruti Yatra' to highlight the 'betrayal' of JD(S) that toppled the first BJP Government in the South.

Speaking after launching the yatra here Former Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa expressed confidence that People of the Karnataka will teach the 'right lesson' to JD(S).

Launching a broadside on former Prime Minister H D Devegowda and his son and former chief minister H D Kumaraswamy, he predicted that JD(S) will be wiped out from the political scene due to 'political opportunism' it exhibited in Karnataka.

Criticising the conduct of Mr Kumaraswamy, who after taking support of BJP and enjoyed power for over 20-months and them 'conspired with his father' and pulled-down the government.

"The people of the state will be informed about the treachery committed against BJP, which provided one of the best governments during 20-months rule of coalition government," he said.

Party state unit president Sadananda Gouda, senior BJP leaders C T Ravi, D H Shankara Murthy, Ramachandra Gowda and R Ashok were also present on the occasion.

The Yathra would be taken through Mandya, Mysore, Madikeri and Hassan districts in the old Mysore area, considered as the strong hold of the JD(S).

During the Yathra BJP leaders also address public meetings.

The saffron party had launched the first leg of this yatra after the JD(S) refused to support the BJP at the end of the 20-month term of H D Kumaraswamy as per the pre-government formation pact in October.
