23rd Ramayana conference to be held in Gujarat
Meerut, Nov 26 (UNI) The 23rd International Ramayana Conference would be organised at Gujarat Vidyapeeth, Ahmedabad under the joint auspices of the Vidyapeeth and the Vishwa Sahitya Sanskriti Sansthan of New Delhi, Chairman of the International Ramayana Conference Lallan Prasad Vyas announced here today.
Vice-Chancellor of the Vidyapeeth Dr Sudarshan lyangar would inaugurate the Conference, he told mediapersons.
The theme of the Conference is 'Everlasting human values in Ramanyana and their relevance in the modern times'. Ramayana scholars from various countries like Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, the UK, Mauritius, the Czech Republic, the US, France and Hungary will also participate in the conference, he added.
The Conference programmes include Bharatnatyam based on the theme of Ramayana by Malaysian artist under the guidance of Shri Sriganesan, Kathak dance based on Hunuman Chalisa by Ms Sushmita Banerji, exhibition of Ramayana paintings by Ms Rozalia Hummel of Hungary and Ms Sushila Chandra of India and a film show on Shri Ram Vangaman Yatra produced by Dr Ram Avtar Sharma, Mr Vyas informed.
According to Mr Vyas, the 22 International Ramayana Conferences have already been held in 15 countries, which include the US, the UK, China, Canada, Indonesia, Nepal, Thailand, Holland and South Africa.
The proposed 23rd Conference would be sixth to be organised in India, he added.
