183 new posts to be created in Divisional Caste Verification panels

Nagpur, Nov 26 (UNI) A total of 183 new posts will be created in the Divisional Caste Verification Committees in Maharashtra under the Directorate of Social Justice for caste verification work.

The recurrent annual average cost involved was Rs 2.60 crore, with the expenditure during the current financial year estimated to be Rs 86 lakh, the Department of Social Justice and Special Assistance said in its proposal in the supplementary budget for 2007-2008, which was tabled in the Legislature here last week.

The 183 new posts, sought to be created, include (pay scales in brackets) 9 of Divisional Social Welfare Officer Group A (10000-325-15200), 9 of Research Officer Group A (6450-225-11500), 9 of Deputy Superintendent of Police (8000-275-13500), 20 of Police Inspector (7450-225-11500), 12 of Head Clerk (5000-150-8000), 18 of Stenographer Higher Grade (6500-200-10500), 25 of Senior Clerk (4000-100-6000), 25 of Junior Clerk (3050-75-3950-80-4590), 28 of Peon (2550-55-2600-60-3200) and 10 of Junior Clerk-Typist (3050-75-3950-80-4590).

The posts also include 9 of Public Relations Officer on a consolidated salary of Rs 7,500 per month, and 9 of Law Officer on a consolidated salary of Rs 8,000 per month.

The department has sought a token supplementary provision of Rs 1,000 to bring the expenditure to the notice of the Legislature.
