Nitish govt's report card sign of transpaerency: Chaubey

Darbhanga, Nov 25 (UNI) Bihar Urban Development Minister Ashwini Kumar Chaubey today said the NDA government had succeeded in submitting a report card on development in the state, something which the RJD government could not in their 15-year rule.

Addressing a press conference here, he said the report card was a sign of transparency in the government and would earn the faith of the people by doing so.

The government was committed to the development of Mithilanchal and had decided to develop Bisfi in Madhubani district, the birth place of ''Mithila Vibhuti'' Vidyapati and Ma Bhagwati Sthan at Uchchaith in the district as tourist destinations he said. The tourism department of the state was working on the project to be taken up by early next year, he added.

He maintained that the central government had sanctioned Rs 80 crore under IHDPT scheme for the development of 10 cities of the state, out of which five, including Darbhanga would be developed as ''Model town''.

The government had chalked out different plans of three crores each to improve the drinking water facility, sanitation and drainage system in Darbhanga town.
