UNLF reiterates its decision to continue struggle

Imphal, Nov 24: The Central Committee of the United National Liberation Front (UNLF) today reiterated its intention to resolve conflicts with the Centre and restore Manipur's sovereignty.

The UNLF said it had mooted the idea of a plebiscite on January 31, 2005, so that the people of the state could decide their fate democratically.

It had proposed that the plebiscite be held under the supervision of the United Nations, the UNLF would deposit all its arms and ammunition with the UN, the Centre should withdraw the Army from Manipur for the plebiscite and that the UN would hand over political power in accordance with the result of the plebiscite.
