School headmaster gets 2 years in molestation case

Fatehabad, Nov 24 (UNI) A local court yesterday sent the headmaster of a government school to two years imprisonment and a fine of Rs 1500 for molesting and outraging the modesty of a woman.

The accused Mahabir Singh was a headmaster at Government High School, Dhinsara in this district.

He went to the house of the victim on the pretext of meeting her father-in-law on March 4, 1991. Finding the woman alone, he allegedly caught her and started molesting her.

The woman raised an alarm and her husband reached there and rescued her from the accused teacher.

The woman then lodged an FIR against the accused.

Chief Judicial Magistrate Lal Chand found the accused guilty of the offense and handed out the sentence.
