Mulayam criticises UPA Govt for 'poor' governance

Vijayawada, Nov 24 (UNI) United National Progressive Alliance (UNPA) Chairman and former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav today criticised the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance (UPA) Government at the Centre for its inept performance in all sectors of Governance.

Addressing 'Rytugarjana' a public meeting organised by the Telugu Desam Party here, he charged the Centre for the hike in prices of essential commodities.

Mr Mulayam said the UNPA was formed to ''protect'' the country from the clutches of the BJP and the Congress.

Criticising the Mayawati Government's failure to maintain the law and order situation in Uttar Pradesh, he alleged that her Government had failed to avert yesterday's blasts, despite getting prior information from the Intelligence services.

The Samajwadi Party supremo said during the three-year of the Central Government, the number of farmers committing suicides had increased. The UNPA would launch a national movement to take up the farmers' cause, he added.

Mr Yadav hoped UNPA would capture power at the Centre in future.
