Barrackpore, Nov 24 (UNI) Noted mathematician Byomkesh Chandra Ghosh will present papers on his new formulae to determine the prime numbers at the Seventh Hawai International Conference on Statistics and Mathematics on January 17-19 at Honolulu.

Talking to UNI here today Mr Ghosh said that he has been invited by conference coordinator Andrew Burge.

Mr Ghosh, who has evolved four different and easy formulae to determine the prime numbers, had already received admiration for his work from mathematicians worldwide, submitted his paper titled ''P versus NP Problem''.

Elaborating the formulae, the 63-year-old wizard, said his formulae had been accepted by the organisers and he was asked to formally present his research papers at the three-day conference.

Mr Ghosh said his solution of Beal's conjecture, two years back, had also drawn accolades from several mathemaicians at several such conferences.

Meanwhile, the Beal's Conjecture awaits publication in various international mathematical journals, including the US-based ''Annals of Mathematics''.

Mr Ghosh, a member of the century-old Calcutta Mathematical Society, claimed that owing to his sustained efforts for years, he had evolved the formulae, which would reduce the time and effort required for application of the ''Sieve Method'' of Eratosthenes.

He also said Fermat, Mersenne and a few other mathematicians had also tried to evolve easy methods and formulae for determining prime numbers, but were cumbersome.
