J J Chinoy award for botanist A K Dhawan

Hisar, Nov 24: Indian Society for Plant Physiology (ISPP) has announced to confer this year's prestigious J J Chinoy Award on Prof A K Dhawan, Director, Centre for Research and Application in Plant Tissue Culture here.

Dr Dhawan has been selected for this award for his remarkable research in Plant Biotechnology, according to Dr G C Srivastava, secretary of the society.

The award will be conferred on him on November 29 at national seminar being organised by ISPP at Krishi Vidyapeeth, Dapoli, In recognition of his outstaning and significant research in plant sciences, the Indian Botanical Society (IBS) has also invited Dr Dhawan to deliver Prof Y S Murty Memorial Lecture at Rajasthan University, Jaipur.
