Dowry harassment in US: Woman admitted to hospital

Tiruchirappalli, Nov 24: Smalin Jenita, married to a person in the US, was admitted to a private hospital here after alleged dowry harassment by her US-settled in-laws and husband.

Family sources today said the condition of Ms Jenita (23), who suffered severe injuries on her neck, spinal chord and pelvic region, was stable.

Before bringing her here, she was admitted to a hospital in North Carolina by her husband stating that she had met with an accident.

The family alleged that the in-laws and husband had pushed her out of the car.

A complaint alleging dowry harassment would be filed against the husband and in-laws, the family sources added.
