Copper heavy, brass cutting and copper wire bar up

Mumbai, Nov 24 (UNI) Copper heavy, Brass cutting and copper wire bar today rose while copper utensil and zinc slab fell, traders at the Bombay Metal Exchange (BME) said.

In the ferrous category, copper heavy rose by Rs 200.

Brass utensils and brass cuttings advanced by Rs 500 each because of heavy demand from retailers.

In the non-ferrous category, copper wire bar edged up by Rs 200 per quintal while zinc slab fell by Rs 400 per quintal.

Tin slab and nickel cathode remained steady on moderate demand.

Following are the spot metal prices per quintal: Ferrous metals: Copper heavy - Rs 33,200, Copper utensils - Rs 30,500, Brass utensils - Rs 24,000, Brass cuttings - Rs 25,000 and Aluminium utensils - Rs 10,800.

Non-ferrous metals: Copper wire bars - Rs 36,500, Aluminium ingots - Rs 12,400, Zinc slab - Rs 12,500, Lead ingots - Rs 12,500, Tin slab - Rs 790 per kg and Nickel cathode - Rs 1,400 per kg.
