Congress endorses WB and Raj Govt move to shift Taslima

Udaipur, Nov 24 (UNI) The Congress today endorsed the move of West Bengal and Rajasthan state governments to shift controversial Bangladeshi author Taslima Nasreen from one place to other and said it was aimed at ensuring security to her.

Talking to reporters here, the party Spokesman and sitting MP Abhishek Manu Singhvi said Ms Nasreen was shifted from Kolkata to Jaipur and then to Delhi on security concerns.

Mr Singhvi said it was the task of the security agencies to decide a safe and secured place for the author.

The Congress spokesman said Ms Nasreen was free to pen her thoughts but she should keep in mind that the process did not hurt somebody or the other.

Mr Singhvi reiterated his party's commitment to the Women's Reservation move.
