BJP blames Centre's soft policy for terror incidents
Hyderabad, Nov 24 (UNI) Condemning the bomb blasts in Lucknow, Faizabad and Varanasi Courts of Uttar Pradesh, BJP National Secretary N Indirasena Reddy today blamed the Centre's 'soft policy' for recurring terror attacks across the country.
Listing out several such instances ever since the Congress-led UPA Government assumed office, including the twin blasts in Lumbini Park and Gokul Chat and the blast in the historical Mecca Masjid here, the senior BJP leader maintained terrorists were emboldened after the 'Prevention of Terrorism Act' (POTA) was repealed.
In line with the policy of 'appeasement' of a particular minority community, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh Government was not taking any decision on the death sentence awarded to Afzal Guru who was convicted in the 'Parliament' attack case, he alleged.
It was unfortunate the 'ruling party's ally' in the state was projecting the picking up of youth belonging to a minority community by the police as an act of ''harassment,'' Mr Reddy lamented.
