AP Sikhs celebrate 'Prakash Utsav'

Hyderabad, Nov 24 (UNI) The 538th 'Prakash Utsav'-- birth anniversary celebrations-- of the first Sikh Guru and the founder of Sikh religion Guru Nanak concluded today with thousands of devotees celebrating it with religious fervour.

The celebration was organised at exhibition grounds, Nampally, under the aegis of Prabhandak Committee, Gurudwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha, Ashok Bazar, Afzalgunji, where over 25,000 Sikh devotees and people of other faiths took part in the ''Vishaal Deewan'' (Mass congregation) by offering prayers to Guru Granth Sahibji (Holy and revered Scripture of Sikhs) The celebrations were marked by the recitations of Holy Gurbani Keetans (Holy Hymns) by the renowned Ragi Jathas (Religious Preachers), who were invited from various parts of the country for the occasion.

Bahi Harbans Singh Jagadhariwals, Bhai Amrjeet Singh of Chandigarh, Bhai Hari Singh, Bahai Joginder Singh and Ragi Jaths rendered Shabad keertans, stressing on imbibing the higher values of life for which Guru Nanak strived.
