Quipo Telecom to invest $ 2.5 bln for 40,000 towers by 2011
New Delhi, Nov 23 (UNI) Quipo Infrastructure Equipment Ltd today said it will erect up to 40,000 telecom towers through its subsidiary with an outlay of 2.5 billion dollars by 2011.
''We will infuse about 2.5 billion dollars for expanding the towers up to 40,000 from current 2,000 through both organic and inorganic way,'' a company official said here.
Quipo Telecom Infrastructure Ltd, parent company's arm, will set up 5,000 towers in each year for the next four years and the rest will be through acquisitions, he said.
At present, Quipo Telecom is present in eight circles such as Punjab, Karnataka, UP (East and West), Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Gujarat and the national capital region (NCR).
