MP lawyers to strike to protest blast in courts in UP
Jabalpur, Nov 23 (UNI) Strongly condemning the serial blasts that occurred today at court premises in Varanasi, Faizabad and Lucknow in Uttar Pradesh, the Madhya Pradesh State Bar Council today announced a statewide strike by lawyers on November 26.
Talking to UNI over telephone, State Bar Council Chairman Rameshwar Neekhra appealed to the lawyer fraternity to not get perturbed and fight unitedly against terrorism in the wake of terrorist attack on the third pillar of democracy.
He said no lawyer in the state will take up a case of a terrorist after this incident.
In a statement issued here today, Madhya Pradesh High Court Bar Association (Jabalpur) secretary Sanjay Seth said lawyers were deeply hurt with the demise of members of their fraternity in the blast. An emergency meeting was called at the High Court premise here after the incident.
He said it was the responsibility of the UPA Government to prevent such attacks but it had failed to do so.
He demanded the Centre to destroy terrorist training camps adjoining border regions of the country with top priority.
