Khodays launches 'Red Knight' whisky in South India

Written by: Staff

Bangalore, Nov 23 (UNI) Khodays India Limited, a multi-faceted multi billion conglomerate, today lanched its new and smooth 'Red Knight' a finest blended malt whisky into South Indian market.

The launch was spurred by an unprecedented success of the product in North India where the introduction of new packaging and a smoother taste had catapulted the brand several notches up in the highly competitive trade.

Briefing newspersons here, Chief Operating Officer Satpal Chaudhry said the whisky had been blended anew with the connoisseur's taste in mind. The Khodays had a share of six lakh cases in the 148 lakh cases of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) market, he added.

Replying to queries, he said the manufacturing capacity had been increased to ensure production of one million cases of IMFL liquor during this year. The overall production including other products such as Rum were around six million, he revealed. South Indians topped the list of IMFL liquor consumption with 48 per cent, while their counterparts in North India constituted 28 per cent.

To another question, he said efforts were on to introduce premier products in whisky and brandy in coming months. The total turnover of the company last year was around Rs 120 crore and was expected to be doubled during this year.
