Athni Taluk Town Muncipal Council Chief Officer trapped

Bangalore, Nov 23 (UNI) Athni Talluk, Belgaum District, Town Muncipal Council Chief Officer S M Hiremath was arrested by Lokayukta police after he was caught red handed while accepting bribe of Rs 1,00,000 for showing official favour.

According to a release, Hiremath demanded and accepted the bribe from one Prakash D Algali for issuing cheque for Rs 2,12,000 for having done the garden work.

The trap was laid after receiving a complaint from Mr Algali and the arrested was produced before the court was was remanded to judicial custody till December five.
