Preparation of electoral photo identity cards begin in Manipur

Imphal, Nov 22 (UNI) Chief Electoral Officer R R Rashmi today announced that permanent residents of Manipur living outside the state can sumit photographs for preparation of Electors Photo Identity Cards (EPIC) and Photo Electoral Rolls.

With the beginning of preparations of electoral photo identity cards in Manipur, electors who opt to submit their photographs can submit a duly filled application Form - ECI-EPIC-001B, along with two passport size coloured photographs.

Furthermore, students, residing in hostels or mess managed by the educational institutions or elsewhere, can enjoy the option of getting registered as electors either at their native places or guardians or at the address of the hostel or mess managed by the educational institutions or elsewhere where they are residents for the time being for pursuing their studies.

All political parties, Non-Government Organisations and members of the public were appealed to inform the people about the arrangements.

The Election Commission has notified that no one will be allowed to vote without election identity cards.
