Nobel laureate Douglas to deliver Salam memorial lecture
New Delhi, Nov 22 (UNI) Nobel laureate Professor Douglas D Osheroff OF Stanford University, will deliver the sixth Abdus Salam Memorial Lecture 2007-2008.
Prof Douglas will speak on ''How advances in science are made'' on November 24 at the Jamia Millia Islamia University.
The memorial lecture was started by the Department of Physics to encourage research in fundamental sciences in developing countries.
An imminent person from the field of science is invited each year for the lecture. The topics covered earlier included, ''The universe inside the atom'' by nobel laureate Gerard't Hooft and ''Strange new quantum worlds'' by T V Ramakrishnan.
