Punjab to raise funds, float bonds for MCs

Phagwara, Nov 21 (UNI) Punjab government was working on a comprehensive plan to raise funds of the Muncipal Corporations for all round development of the Corporation cities, Local Bodies Minister Manoranjan Kalia said here today.

The Local Bodies Department would also float "Bonds" to raise the funds of the corporations, he told reporters here.

Mr Kalia said he, along with senior officials of the department, had dicussed the scheme with the Central Government officials.

After the meeting, it was decided to float these bonds from next financial year, he said.
