Pondy: Committees to deal land disputes

Puducherry, Nov 21: The Puducherry administration has constituted committees in respective areas to deal with land disputes.

District Collector Theva Neethi Das, in a release here today, said the Tahsildar or the Deputy Tahsildar would head the committees and investigate the case after receiving complaints from the police or public. It would also examine the registration documents, among other things.

The committees would advice the police on maintenance of law and order and forward the case to the Deputy District Magistrate to initiate criminal action, he added.
