New Delhi, Nov 21 (UNI) It was traffic snarls and baraat processions galore in Delhi today as the Capital city saw nearly 30,000 marriages.

Nearly 30,000 couples are tying the knot today as it is considered an auspicious day when god Vishnu and Goddess Tulsi got married.

The spate of marriages meant huge marriage processions in many parts of the city, leading to traffic jams in many areas of South, West and North Delhi.

This coupled with the ongoing trade fair, meant traffic snarls galore across the city.

The traffic police have made several arrangements to ensure smooth flow of traffic across the city, which includes deployment of around 250 traffic policemen to regulate vehicular movement on the roads between 2030 hrs and 0100 hrs.

The auspicious day comes once a year. For instance, this is a perfect day for 'mangliks' to tie the nuptial knot.
