Maharashtra CM, his deputy condole Pramod Navalkar's death

Nagpur, Nov 21 (UNI) Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh and his deputy R R Patil has condoled the death of senior Shiv Sena leader and former Maharashtra minister Pramod Navalkar.

Mr Deshmukh, in his condolence message here, said in Mr Navalkar's passing away, the state had lost an all-round personality. Mr Navalkar was an accomplished political leader, journalist and social worker.

Expressing grief at Mr Navalkar's death, Mr Patil said the former member of the Legislative Council was an individual who took pride in his Marathi background and fought throughout his life for the honour of the language.

Legislative Council chairman Shivajirao Deshmukh said the state had lost a studious and sincere leader.

Legislative Assembly Speaker Babasaheb Kupekar said Mr Navalkar had left an indelible impression on the political life of Maharashtra, both as a legislator as well as a minister.

Condolence messages have also come from Maharashtra Minister for Cultural Affairs Ashok Chavan and Minister for Public Works Anil Deshmukh.
