Kerala Pravasi to hold march to Parliament on Dec 3

Kannur, Nov 21 (UNI) Kerala Pravasi Sangam (KPS), an organisation for the welfare of Malayalees, working in the Gulf countries, will organise a march to Parliament on December 3 against alleged neglect of pravasis by the Centre.

Talking to newspersons here, KPS state president P Kunhu Mohammed said about 300 people, would take part in the march, which would be inaugurated by CPI(M) leader Vrinda Karat from the Kerala House.

Alleging that the NORKA cell did not extend any help to the Malayalee Pravasis, he said it should be dismissed.

Pointing out that the Centre was collecting Rs 5,000 in cash from each passengers as emigration deposit, which had accumulated to thousands of crores, he said the Centre should take steps to utilise the deposit for the rehabilitation and welfare of pravasis returned from the Gulf countries.

Mr Mohammed urged the Union Aviation Ministry giving permission to private airlines to operate more flights from Karippur airport and also to introduce a unifrom fare in Kerala's three airports.
