HC to hear case against Lalu-Rabri in DA case on December 17

Patna, Nov 21 (UNI) Patna High Court would hear the writ on December 17 for admission of a petition, filed by the Bihar government challenging the acquittal of Railway Minister Lalu Prasad and his wife Rabri Devi from a lower court here in connection with the disproportionate asset(DA) case.

Considering the request of the state government, CBI and the counsel of Mr Prasad and his wife, Justice R K Dutta fixed December 17 as the next date for hearing the matter.

The court also directed the counsels representing the concerned parties to remain continuously present in the court during the hearing from December 17 till december 20.

Earlier on December 18, 2006, the special CBI court of Patna had acquitted the Lalu-Rabri duo in connection with DA case, saying the evidences produced by the prosecution were insufficient to sentence them.

Challenging their in the DA case by the CBI court, the Bihar government filed a petition in Patna High Court this year.
