HC directs court to provide chargesheet copies to approver
Chennai, Nov 21 (UNI) The Madras High Court today directed the Puducherry Sessions Court to provide copies of the chargesheet and other documents, pertaining to the Sankaraman murder case, to Ravi Subramaniam, an accused turned approver in the case.
Justice K Mohanram gave the direction on an appeal filed by Subramaniam against the Puducherry Court order, denying him copies of chargesheet and other documents.
The Judge said an accused turned approver had every right to get the copies of chargesheet and other documents, pertaining to the case.
Ravi Subramaniam said he had approached the Puducherry Court, which was trying the murder case, in which Kanchi Acharya Jayendra Saraswati was the prime accused, seeking documents, but the Court had dismissed his plea.
In his apeal before the High Court, he said as an approver, he was entitled for the copies of documents and sought a direction to the Puducherry Court to provide him copies of all the documents.
