HC admits Anand Mohans appeal against capital punishment

Patna, Nov 21 (UNI) Patna High Court today admitted hearing the application of former MP Anand Mohan, awarded with the death sentence by a lower court in connection with former Gopalganj District Magistrate G Krishnaiya murder case.

After hearing both the parties, a division bench of the court comprising justice S K Sharma and Justice G Prasad admitted the application for the hearing. The Court also directed the lower court to provide the records related to the case.

Earlier, Mr Krishnaiya was killed by a mob near Khabra on National Highway 28 in Muzaffarpur on December 5, 1994. Apart from Anand Mohan, former minister Akhlaque Ahmad and Prof Arun Kumar were awarded capital punishment in connection with the murder of Mr Krishnaiya.
