Haryana sets up Employment Info Centres in villages

Chandigarh, Nov 21 (UNI) An innovative programme of the Haryana Employment Department to set up Employment Information Centres in villages to provide information to unemployed candidates regarding training and employment has been highly appreciated by panchayats and the common man.

Stating this here today, a spokesman of the Department said such Employment Information Centres had so far been set up in 233 villages in the state.

The information available at this centres was being updated by Employment Officers so as to facilitate the unemployed in availing of employment opportunities.

He said private placement agencies had been set up in eight industrial towns of the state on the pattern of a company to provide private employment.

These cities included Gurgaon, Faridabad, Sonepat, Yamunanagar, Rohtak, Hisar, Panipat and Bahadurgarh.

He said as a result of the efforts made by the Department, 6838 candidates had been provided employment in private sector from March 1, 2005 to August 31, 2007.

He said the department had made the registration system easy for those unemployed who intended to join private sector. He said the private sector had been given the exemption to choose the candidate from the live registers of employment office without considering seniority of registration.

The department had set up private sector bureaux in the district employment offices to facilitate the unemployed youth in getting employment in private sector. A campaign in this regard had already been launched, he added.
