Panaji, Nov 21 ( UNI) ''Goa's Movement Against SEZs (GMAS)'' will hold a peaceful hunger strike to protest against all SEZs in the state here on Friday.

GMAS convenor Matanhy Saldanha and other representatives, told media here today the GMAS in its meeting yesterday had decided to hold a sit-in peaceful protest in Panaji, against all SEZs and to demand cancellation of all eighteen SEZs, including the two notified at Keri and Verna as Goa does not need any SEZ in the state.

Mr Saldanha said, ''The struggle is not against any individual but against the collective decision of the Government's policy on SEZs''.

The GMAS agitation will continue till the government clears cancellation of all SEZs. There will be no compromise as SEZs are an end of Goa in every respect, he added.

He also said, GMAS constituents after long deliberation felt that keeping on hold the eight SEZs sent for approval is not all acceptable since the eight SEZs kept on hold could be revived later, just like most of public pronouncements of the government as in the case of Bainguini, the site selected for garbage disposal.
