ABL to set up more manufacturing units

Chennai, Nov 21 (UNI) ABL Biotechologies today announced its plans to increase manufacturing units from nine to 12.

Addressing a press conference here, ABL Chairman K O Isaac said currently they were scouting for locations in the country.

He said the company would venture into production of veterinary medicines.

''The foray into veterinary medicine would be a milestone in the company's growth,'' Mr Isaac said.

The company would also look for manufacturing sites in Special Economic Zones.

It would also foray into exports of formulations as the market was very bright, Mr Isaac said and added that they proposed to offer innovative products in new therapeutic segments.

He said the pharma industry was undergoing a lot of problems due to excess duty levied on Maximum Retail Price (MRP), resulting in increase of medicine cost.
