Punjab govt to amend ID card order for pregnant women

Hoshiarpur, Nov 19 (UNI) The Punjab government has agreed to amend its earlier orders asking scan centres to keep the ID card or voter card of pregnant women undergoing ultrasound examination.

This assurance was given today by Health Minister Laxmi Kanta Chawla at a meeting with the members of the Indian Medical Associtaion (IMA) and doctors running ultrasound scan centres. here at mini secretariat here today.

She said that any ID proof----- bank account copy, ration card, driving licence, RC of the vehicle, BPL cards, red cards or blue cards issued by the government would be considered valid for ultra sound examinations. The ID proof of husbands or attendents (relatives) of pregnant women would also be considered valid, she assured the doctors.
