Lok Adalats held in Haryana

Chandigarh , Nov 18 (UNI) Lok Adalats were held today at Bhiwani, Hissar, Kaithal, Kurukshetra, Karnal, Sonepat, Ganaur, Gohana and Guhla.

Rural Lok Adalats were also held at Bass (Hansi-Hissar), Buria (Yamunanagar), Odhan (Sirsa) and Kheri Sikandar(Kaithal), Member Secretary, Haryana State Legal Services Authority (HALSA) disclosed here today.

In these Lok Adalats 2,188 cases were settled which included 120 MACT cases pertaining to death/injury arising out of vehicular accidents wherein an amount of Rs 1,36,42,000 was awarded as compensation.

Besides 2,068 cases were pertaining to other categories including civil and petty criminal, matrimonial and family disputes and bank loan cases were also settled.
