Gangsters make abortive attempt to loot trader

Sonepat, Nov 18 (UNI) Three motorcycle borne gangsters made an abortive attempt to loot a trader in the Railway colony in Gohana town last night.

Giving details police sources today said that the gangsters fired upon Manish Goyal, a trader at Gohana's Anaj Mandi who was returning home with Rs 20,000 in a bag. On hearing the shot, his father, Ram Bilas Goyal came out of the house and challenged the gangsters.

During the scuffle with one of the gangsters, Ram Bilas Goyal was struck on the head with a pistol butt. The three gangsters fled when residents of Railway colony came out of their houses on hearing the pistol shot.

The injured Ram Bilas Goyal was first admitted to the community health centre at Gohana and was later shifted to PGIMS, Rohtak after a fracture was detected in his skull. The police has registered a case and begun investigations.
