Freedom fighter Jagannath Udavant passes away
Kopargaon, Maharashtra, Nov 18: Veteran freedom fighter and Congress leader Jagannath Ranganath Udavant passed away last night following a heart attack.
He was 90 and is survied by behind his wife, three sons and three daughters. The funeral rites were performed here this morning.
An associate of Raosaheb Patwardhan and Achyutrao Patwardhan, Udavant had been interned by the British for three months during the 1942 Quit India Movement.
An active Congress leader, he had served in various capacities for the party at the district and taluka levels.
