Former CJ of India R S Pathak passes away
New Delhi, Nov 18: Former Chief Justice of India Raghunandan Swaroop Pathak died of a cardiac arrest today.
He was 87. He is survived by wife Asha Pathak and three sons.
The cremation will take place tomorrow at Lodhi Road crematorium.
Justice Pathak was not keeping well for the past 15 days. He was admitted to the Max Hospital, following hip dislocation. He suffered a cardiac arrest at 0030 hrs.
Justice Pathak served as the Chief Justice of India from 1986-89.
He relinquished his job as the top judge of the country after being appointed as a Judge at the International Court of Justice at the Hague.
He also served as president of the Tribune Trust.
He was born on November 25, 1924 and graduated from Allahabad University.
