Excise official held on bribe charges, Rs 10 lakh accepted

Hyderabad, Nov 18 (UNI) The sleuths of Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) today caught redhanded Mahaboob Nagar district Excise Superintendent while accepting Rs 10 lakh as bribe from a complainant.

The ACB officials arrested the Excise official Ranjeet when he was taking Rs 10 lakh as bribe from Arjun Goud to renew his toddy shop license.

The ACB officials also conducted checks in his houses and that of his relatives in the city.

Mr Ranjeet was also arrested on bribe charges in 1999.

A case was registered and investigation was on.
