AIYF's SSCP 'campaign journey' arrives Puducherry

Puducherry, Nov 18 (UNI) A rousing reception was accorded to the 'campaign journey', undertaken by the All India Youth Federation (AIYF) from Chennai to Rameswaram in support of the Sethusamudram Shipping Canal Project (SSCP), which arrived here today.

The 'journey', led by AIYF Tamil Nadu unit President Kandasamy, kick started from Chennai yesterday and was scheduled to reach Rameswaram on November 22.

Talking to newspersons, Mr Kandasamy charged the BJP with playing a ''double role'' in the project. The party, which took the initial steps for the project, was hindering it citing the Ram Sethu issue, he alleged.

The project once implemented would help to enhance Tamil Nadu's economy, he opined.
