3 criminals lynched in Uttar Pradesh

Sitapur, Nov 18: Three criminals have been lynched by the locals of Chatangur village in Tambor area here, police said today.

The incident took place late last night, when some armed criminals entered the village with an intention of robbery.

On way, the assailants enquired one Manoj's address from some people, among whom one Musru, was shot at and wounded after he doubted their intentions, the police said.

Hearing the firing, the locals gathered, surrounded the accused and thrashed them with sticks they died on the spot.

The bodies had been sent for postmortem, while further investigations were underway, the police said.
