Woman student found dead in hostel bathroom in Phagwara

Phagwara Nov 17 (UNI) A woman MSc student of a local college here was found dead under mysterious circumstances in the bathroom of her hostel this morning, police said today.

Vishaldeep, 21, a student of MSc (Maths) in Lovely Institute Chiherru, hailing from mohalla Gianian, Faridkot went to the bathroom to ease herself in the morning but did not come out for a long time, Shilpa, room-mate of Vishalpreet told police.

Shilpa and other girls raised an alarm when Vishaldeep did not respond to their calls and the security in Handa Complex where the hostel was run in different flats, broke the door of the bathroom where the girl was found lying.

She was immediately brought to a private hospital where,the doctors declared her ''brought dead''. The body was later sent to a local civil hospital for post mortem.

Ashok Kumar, father of the deceased and her family reached here from Faridkot on hearing the news of Vishalpreet's mysterious death.

Police was investigating the case.
