Under construction factory gutted in HP

Solan, Nov 17 (UNI) An under construction factory in the industrial town of Barotiwala in Solan district of Himachal Pradesh was completely gutted today, a fire official said.

The fire broke out in the manufacturing unit of Johnson and Johnson, which had been provided a temporary electricity connection recently, at Barotiwala, about 60 km from here, early morning today, causing an estimated loss of Rs 20 lakh, fire officer Dalep Thapa told UNI here.

He said fire personnel brought the fire under control after about two hours of labour.

Meanwhile, police said short circuit was probably the cause of the fire, which was being investigated.

A case has been registered and investigations are on, they added.
