Security beefed up as Mayawati reaches Jammu tomorrow
Jammu, Nov 17 (UNI) Security has been tightened here, for the visit of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) president and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati, who will reach here tomorrow for a public address, official sources said today.
According to the sources, tight security arrangements have been made enroute Airport to the venue, where BSP supremo will address the public gathering.
''Besides security, traffic restrictions have also been imposed in the city to avoid chaos among the general public,'' the official sources told UNI.
However, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Jammu, Parminder Singh said five additional battalions of Jammu and Kashmir police force have been deployed for the occasion.
''One SP, five Dy SPs and one battalion of lady constables will be taking care of the gathering at the venue and special security arrangements have also been made to keep close watch on any suspicious movement,'' Mr Parminder said.
